The Story of Casa Comadres

Comadre

[koh-mah-dreh] noun

1. A close female friend

2. A midwife

3. The mother of your godchild, or your child’s godmother

Casa Comadres has been incubating for almost a decade. Kristin and Lauren first met as wild seekers, in Berkeley, California. Their immediate connection and allyship began birthing expansive experiences and circles of inclusive human connection within weeks of meeting each other.

Through childbirth, the endings and beginnings of marriages, shamanic apprenticeship, trips to the Peruvian Amazon and other sacred places, Lauren and Kristin have repeatedly come back to the vision of an energetic container that can hold big and diverse transformation work for people focused on building a better world. With bustling individual private practices, and the planet’s movement into a more overt sea change, the time has finally arrived to bring Casa Comadres into the material world.

Casa Comadres is a container that acknowledges that we are all godparents and midwives of this Earth. In short, we are stewards. At this dynamic moment in human history, so many of us are feeling a deep and embodied call to bring our unbounded gifts and skills into the light, in service of all Life.
